    I'm helping a friend out with his debt problems that have built up over a number of years, doing well so far but have just had a reply I wasn't expecting lol! Unfortunately I'd replied to this DCA before I found this site so may not have done the best thing, and am looking for the next best step of action - this is what I sent on my friends behalf;

    "You have contacted me in relation to an amount outstanding of £193.45 with your client Swiftcover.Com.

    I am writing to inform you that I am in dispute with this company after I had taken an insurance policy out with them, and they failed to inform me how much their new direct debit would be when they decided to amend the amount after a couple of my payments.

    This in turn caused my bank account to incur charges, which led to the subsequent direct debit presentation, which they had not informed me of the date they would present it again, also not being paid thus incurring further charges and creating the debt I now have with the bank."

    This is the reply we received today but dated 26th March, so it could be that they haven't received our letter that was sent 4th April;

    Any help on the best way to approach this is gratefully received, when in dispute for my own cases, I've gone back to the OC and fought it out with them - is that the best way to deal with this problem?

    Re: C.A.R.S & Swiftcover.com

    Wasn't at all sure how to approach this, so in the end we made a complaint email to Swiftcover, who ignored it and said everything still stands. So I sent another email back asking for all statements and a list of charges, and they've gone quiet so far
