Have a look here and ring the number mentioned to find out when the warrant was issued.

Is she the only driver? Is the car insured for business use? Is the vehicle sign written at all?

              Oh, yes...

Mind you, I keep reading the title of this thread as "Bailiffs threatening my daughter with pliers and locksmith", which makes me wonder why they need to remove her chastity belt.

If the car is insured for Business use as well as Social Domestic and Pleasure - known as Class 1 Motor Insurance - unless I am very much mistaken, the bailiff cannot levy on or seize the car.

If they are stupid enough to do so, then both they and the creditor could be in for an expensive time.

Two other bailiff companies - Jacobs and JBW - have both illegally seized vehicles. In Jacobs' case, it cost them dearly when they illegally seized a third-party vehicle. In JBW's case, it cost Council Tax payers a pretty penny when their brainless bailiffs illegally seized a vehicle and the local authority they were acting for were forced to pay damages for Trespass, etc., plus legal costs to the owner of the vehicle.

Certificated bailiffs may think they are being clever by levying on and seizing motor vehicles, but, invariably, it ends up costing the creditor and, in some cases, the taxpayer, more than the original debt to compensate the vehicle owner/debtor for the bailiffs' torts and blundering.

It makes you wonder if any proposed legislation to crack down on bailiff misconduct should contain a provision requiring bailiff companies to fully indemnify public bodies and private creditors against their idiotic behaviour. Then again, I don't think employing individuals who are complete and total numpties is an insurable risk.
Life is a journey on which we all travel, sometimes together, but never alone.
