One should send a copy of that letter to the court, as it seems to be an attempt to intimidate and/or pervert the course of justice.

The Law Works Pro Bono Centre - link - the Bar Pro Bono Unit - link - and the National Pro Bono Centre - link - may be able to convince the parking parasites that you'll not be a push-over, that they'll not be able to bounce their claim into multi track (and thus screw you over for thousands in costs - link) and that alternative dispute resolution remains an option for you but, of course, not for the parking parasites.

They give the revenue generating number of 0870 919 2001

Their geographical number is stated at http://www.ce-service.co.uk/contact-us.html to be 0115 822 5020, which seems only to be an automated payment line.

They've already stated their claim value to be around £275, so if they can turn this into a multi-track claim I will eat the hats of all elderly people in the united kingdom and surrounding continents.

It's posturing plain and simple. But hey, I'm happy to litigate as a defendant (litigant in person) in multi-track if they want to play that.

I think they are primarily trying to change their image of "big bullies that never take you to court" to "big bullies that do take you to court" - but I think they'll eventually just wisen the internet to the frivolity of those attempts too.

In that case, it may be wise to avoid the posture commonly known as mooning lest you inflame their passion.

I still believe you would be wiser to obtain free - pro bono - representation. They probably would not need to know that your lawyer and barrister(s) were free until they'd lost and, if they got the idea that they'd risk paying your team several thousand quid, they might prefer not to proceed.

I run a legal services business, so really they are welcome to give it a shot. I'm not here "mooning", a lot of people will buckle immediately when a claim is filed, I'm here to give those people another viewpoint and hopefully another option. It's the sole and only reason I registered, ie. to help out people who might buckle to the bullying.

Also you are wrong regarding pro-bono representation. The other party needs to be made aware of this within 14 days of agreeing pro-bono or conditional fees.

                Vince,

I am very interested in your post. As it just so happens I have been helping a relative with a parking charge from Civil Enforcement Ltd and she responded within the correct time frame to appeal. She has heard nopthing further from the company to state whether her appeal had been accepted or whether she can progress the matter to POPLA. Instead...she received a "draft" claim form. A you have quite rightly stated, there is limited ways in which to contact the company. There is NO email address. Apart from an automated payment line there is NO telephone number for the company.

"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

It was nobody's fault. You asked me about the site and I (truthfully) responded saying that (a) I had never heard of them, (b) there are a number of "clearing houses" of this nature around, many of which are questionable, and (c) the other site I am associated with regularly gets such firms trying it on for free advertising. There was no reason anyone should know that Cel knows these people or that their companies are above board (I assume, unless Cel has gone mad in France) - we have certainly seen more than one spammer on this site, and will see them again.
