  • Arrow Global

I have been battling with Arrow Global who claim I owe them £8,000, I have never had any credit with any company called Arrow Gobal, they issued a county court claim which I returned with my defence. I also wrote to Arrow Global and asked them for a copy of the credit agreement and a breakdown of what they said I owed. I did not admit to owing anything. They sent me a copy of a reply card/credit agreement with what they claimed was my signature, again I would dispute that it is my actual signature, they also sent me a copy of what they stated was my account, it started on the first page with a balance of £4,000 and finished on the last page with a balance of around £6,000, so no where near the amount they claim I owe, and no expalnation as to why it did not start from when they claim the account was first taken out. I have had no letter of assignment, no where on the accounts does my name, address or who the account is owed to appear, the first time I had any knowledge of this matter was when I received a letter from Dryden's solicitors telling me that a county court judgement was going to be taken out in regard to this debtwhihc was in December last year and looking at the account they sent the last payment made, not sure who by was in June 2006.

I now have a date - 12th March to attend a case management conference at the local county court. I'd appreciate some advice as to what I need to do next.

    Thanks

You wouldn't have, Arrow Global are debt purchasers who buy delinquent accounts from various lenders. Did you ever have an MBNA card? They bought a lot of those last year!

    What was your defence?

If the last payment was made in June 2006, this would have been statute barred last year. When did they issue the claim? If it was in December last year, then it would already have been SBd by then and that's an absolute defence.

Is this your debt or not? Surely if you had a loan or card with a balance of that size you would know about it, even if it was some time ago.

      Re: Arrow Global

I have never had an MBNA card, I did have a partner who left me with considerable debts, most of which I sorted and I'm paying back at an agreed amount. Should Arrow Global be telling me who the original debt belongs to? There is no mention of who the original debt belongs to on any of the information they sent. All I received was one letter from Dryden/Fairfax telling me they had issued a county court judgement, this was followed by the judgement which I defended saying I did not owe any money to Arrow Global, this came in December. I then sent the template letter asking for the signed credit agreement and breakdown of the charges, they sent an agreement, no indication who the agreement is with, and some accounts, there is again no indication as to who the money is owed, no mention of my name or address on the these accounts, the accounts start with a balance of £4000 and end with a payment made in June 2006 and a balance of £6000. Thank you very much for assisting me.

You may want to contact this firm, PT2537 works for them and is also a member on here. He's had a lot of experience dealing with Arrow claims --> http://www.watsonssolicitors.co.uk

He also successfully defended another LB member (Plan B) --> http://paulatwatsonssolicitors.wordp...nder-v-mayhew/

Or PM pt2537 with a link to this thread and see what he has to say.
