Re: No CCA within 12 days - Took out a consolidation loan, but no consolidation

I think that's what I'm going to do first. They're not going to take me to court quickly so I have time to research and assess the best options.

Re: No CCA within 12 days - Took out a consolidation loan, but no consolidation

      Hi D1ngle, me again

Kind of caught up and got some more information.
It seems i am in a similar position to you in that I have lots of debts and no job and no assets.
I have a slightly different opinion to GravyTrain in that I would not use anyone for a DMP, well certainly not one of the national ones like stepchange (CCCS).

I would however talk to national debt line and get their help in putting an income and expenditure together, this is something of a game as every line has a "trigger" figure , below which they tend to accept, above they won't. Now some of your expenses may be below the figure and some above so what I did was even it out a little ..that is where NDL can help.

I would also send a letter to all of your creditors either offering token payments or asking for a 6 month payment break. there are templates on here and NDL can send you some.
Can I ask, are you reliant on benefits or just a majorly reduced wage? If you are working and can manage it maybe £1 a month to everyone for 6 months while you find your feet, don't forget to ask for interest and charges to be frozen.

Once all that is sent off you carry on with your CCA requests to everyone that needs one and your SAR
From that you decide what to do.
As I said before deal with one letter at a time, don't overthink it (those that know me will laugh at that)
If you get a reply that you don't know how to deal with come and ask.

When and if you start getting letters keep them all and if they are official like default notices keep the envelope and mark on it what date it was received.

There is a lot to learn but just keep rereading the thread to remind you.

If you feel it is all too daunting then use one of the charities, ask us questions, no question is stupid (well some of mine are)

People are here to help but like everything else opinions differ and there are no right and wrongs, you decide what is best for you

Re: No CCA within 12 days - Took out a consolidation loan, but no consolidation

Thank you for the replies Jon1965 and Gravytrain. That's now my plan. Get a DMP gong and then CCA and SAR my creditors.

I didn't use a company that charges and I ended up accepting the offer of some (more than some) help from Labman and his charity. He's helped me with my monthly income and expenditure and after around 5-6 versions of a financial statement it looks like we have one that has a chance of being accepted!

It was much better talking to someone who had experience in these matters rather than someone who had just been paid to "give advice" as you never know if the advice is really impartial. You don't have that issue with Labman and he definitely provided good and honest advice.

Definitely recommend anyone without experience to talk to Labman for help in these.

I'll post an update when I know more and progress through all this.

        Thanks again.

        D

          Hi D1ngle
I am really pleased that you are getting sorted and that Labman has become involved. That would have been my ideal suggestion for you but I do not know his workload.
          Good luck with everything
