I have received letters from a company saying i owe them £169 to a phone company from 2006. I have no knowledge of this and have told them this. They say i had made a last payment to the phone company in 2006, they have sent no other items to say its my debt. i have written bc 3 times so far. What do I do now please???

    Re: debt collector

You have two options, either file the letters in the bin, or write back telling them to prove it.

Even if the debt was yours, if the last payment was in 2006 it would already be Statute Barred because it's been over 6 years since the last payment.
