Hi all,
ok,straight to it, I had a 24 month orange mobile contract,it ran out in July 2012. The payment from my bank in July read "final payment" and the debit was set up only for 24 months by orange. So,in September I received a letter from orange saying my bills for August and September hadn't been paid and I owed them for both months plus charges for overdue account. Now as I said the contract was signed for 24 months and orange themselves set up the direct debit for 24 months only and the final months payment read "final payment". I rang their CS department and was told that I had to ring and cancel the contract on the 24th month otherwise it continues to run. How can this be if I signed up for 24 months and they set up the debit to end after 24 months? They are threatening further charges and to sell it on to a debt collector etc etc. surely they have this wrong? Can this be proper practice on their part?
thanks,
Scott
