i had a loan with TSB well over 12 years ago , and defaulted and didnt pay it as i left England .Anyway yesterday i recieved a letter off a global debt recovery company stating : our client has instructed us in respect of said account and we would appreciate my assistance by calling their information section on such number . i have been told from a good friend that i shouldn't bother doing anything as so long a time has expired and it is in statute - barred . Could anyone help or shed any information of what's best for me to do . If the debt agency has bought the debt off the bank have i an obligation to pay them back , or just ignore any letters in the future . Thanks in advance .

Re: debt over 12 years ago
As long as 6 years has passed without any payment towards the debt or written acknowledgement of it, you're fine ignoring it. The debt still exists, so DCA's are allowed to ask you to pay. You equally allowed not to. If Statute Barred you can safely ignore it. If the DCA becomes a pain, there is a letter you could send, but I suspect they'll vanish before too long.

Re: debt over 12 years ago
I agree, file it under Ignore but don't throw it in case they get daft.
Sounds like it is safely Statute Barred so there is little they can do except harass you a bit. Ignore and they will get bored, assume they have wrong address and move onto easier fish to fry."Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )
