    Re: mackenzie hall

Mucky Hall specialise in uncorrectable, unenforceable and statute barred debt.
You MUST insist that all correspondence is in writing for the avoidance of doubt and no further calls will be accepted, but they will be logged for Harassment action.

Have they identified what the debt is concerning ??

As I mentioned earlier you REQUIRE everything in writing.
You do NOT have to talk to them on the phone at all.
They may claim different, but simply inform them that YOU are logging their calls for further harassment action.

          LETTERS ONLY.

When did you have a shop direct account ?

If you are worried about the phone, just answer & tell them "everything in writing" & hang up. Do not answer their "security" questions.

                  Re: mackenzie hall

The mere fact it has arrived on Mucky Halls lap is good evidence that the OC simply cannot be bothered to pursue the debt further.
MH have a tendency of over stating the legal position and claim numerous things, but they are best ignored.
Deal with their calls as detailed above, but otherwsie do NOT enter into any sort of correspondence with them at all.

They wont like it and will threaten all manner of nasty things, including visits, but they simply cannot take any legal action at all.

Hang up if they phone you. They will soon move on to their next victim,. Do not get involved in any sort of a conversation with these muppets. They used to be on their own at the very bottom of the DCA Dung Heap but now they have company in the equally useless and inefficient MMF and the new spawn of Muck Hall that is PDCS

                          Re: mackenzie hall

                          Hey good evening,

I have an outstanding debt with Barclays for £3200 but they have recently sold the debt to Mckenzie Hall. MH contacted me today and made me an offer to pay £1750 in order to settle the debt.

I am very skeptical about this arrangement it sounds too good to be true. They sent me confirmation email detailing the agreement but I do not know what to do. I am aware that debt collection agencies normally operate outside the realms of OFT standards but on second thoughts if I decide to settle the discounted offer could that be the end of my debt issue?

Or could this be another cowboy tactic to get more money out of me???

                          Confirmation email:

                          REDUCED SETTLEMENT OFFER
We can confirm that our client will accept £1,750.00 as a full and final settlement with regards to the above debt. The payment has been agreed to be paid no later than 14/12/2012 via debit card. Our client would prefer an amicable settlement, however, should the settlement amount not be paid by the specified date, there could be a potential for further action.Payment method:Sterling Bankers Draft or a guaranteed Building Society Cheque made payable to Mackenzie Hall Ltd. quoting your name, address, and reference number on the rear of the payment and sent to us by Royal Mail special delivery. You can rest assured if they are prepared to settle for 50% then they know the alleged debt is probably unenforceable.
