    I always take the attitude with this type of thing that if you don't try, you won't get. For the sake of a stamp, it has to be worth a go, but I wouldn't hold my breath!

        I am writing with regards to the above account which has recently been settled. I note your intention to refund me £1300.00 by cheque following my early settlement. I would ask if interest already charged could also be added to that figure, or at minimum statutory interest at the rate of 8.00% as is usual in these matters.

        I look forward to receipt of your cheque, including the addition of interest as above.
