Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some advice about a debt that was occurred 3 years ago that I thought had been dealt with but it seems it hasn't.
About 3 years ago I took out a payday loan with wageday advance. Which to my knowledge was repaid on the agreed re-payment date. About 2 weeks ago the landlord of the property of which I used to reside contacted me to say that she had been getting threatening phone calls and letters saying that this MMfinance company had taken over the debt and would be calling at her address to recover debts. I phoned MMfinance to ask about this debt, to which I had an irate lady demanding full payments and threatening this and that. She was not happy that I did not give out my current address and refused to acknowledge the debt until they sent (by the email address I gave them) details of the original loan agreement and details of when this "debt" was passed on to a DCA. From then I have received nothing but phone calls demanding settlement in full and threatening doorstep baliffs, also emails by the dozen threatening the same thing.
I would like some advice on how to continue this, I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall. The ex landlord (who is a good friend) is also upset about the prospect that she will receive baliffs at the property.
Any help on this matter would be much appreciated
Thanks in advance,
David
