  • advantis really worried

Hi posted on this forum a few weeks ago about advantis have received another letter about this debt for £795.86 which they are trying to collect on behalf of CapQuest Debt Recovery Ltd at the time of my last post wasn't sure what this debt was for thinking back it could be a debt with Capitol One that I had over six years ago (although I can't be 100% sure ) all the letter states is they are collecting for CapQuest the amount a client ref number and there ref number. I ignored the last letter cause it had come out of nowhere this letter is getting a bit more threatening such as.

Owing to the lack of response we have had from you we suspect that there is no valid reason why you should pay that which you owe but you have chosen not to.

you can not expect CapQuest Debt Recovery Ltd to allow you to continue to ignore the debt that you owe to them.

They are threatening legal proceedings or sending someone round to collect the debt personally to be honest I am getting a little worried and scared of there tactics as I said I'm not a 100% sure about the debt and they don't say it's Capitol One what rights do I have and what can I do if some bully turns up at my door.

can I just ignore these letters as I thought the debt would no longer stand as it has been well over six years old .

when did you last make a payment/acknowledge the debt?

if that was over 6 years, they can ask for payment till the cows come home there is nothing they can do about it, i your really worried, send them a prove it letter but tbh I would file the letters under B for bog off.

To quote my dear friend Clever Clogs (I'm sure its him) ask them have they brought their own pnuematic drill to collect the doorstep, and shut the door in their face.

99.999999999999 times out of 100, no one turns up as they know bloody well its illegal to do it they just count on people not finding places like this on the internet and arming themselves with knowledge.

If anyone was to DARE turn up, say the debt is statuate barred (over 6 years old) and offer them a clean pair of underpants before reporting the company to the Office of Fair Trading

Don't worry.. they can ask you as much as they like, they are not allowed by law (and they know it) to use any legal ways (courts etc) to get the money from you. It's what we call here a threatogram, designed to scare you.

Crapquest are well-known for chasing statute-barred debt. Follow Miliitant's advice and send Advantis the template letter for SB debts. If you need an anti-harassment letter, I can help you with that.
