i have alot of debt with brit gas and they have sent letter saying they will disconnect us is it easy

From what you say, it sounds like you would benefit from contacting a debt counselling charity to help you sort things out. If you go to the main forum page and go down the right hand side, there is a burgundy coloured rectangle at the bottom. This is a link for a debt counselling charity. Visit their website and see if they are able to help you. I feel this would enable you to get to grips with the debt your currently have.
