  • Blemain again....question

Hi all, i know there seems to be a lot of people with bad issues with this firm, but i would like to ask for some feedback on a couple of things.
we had a loan with them from 2007 to august 2012. we did have some difficulties during the loan period but as soon as we could pay any arrears we did, none of the missed payments were for longer than a couple of months and by the time the loan finished we were not in arrears with any monthly payments, apart from the dreaded insurance (scam ) thing. the original loan was for £6600 including broker fees etc. taking into account ALL payments were eventually met within the 5 year period we paid, including interest a total of £9155.40 but now they have given us a closing balance of £4100 which is a combination of fees, charges and insurance costs.

now my question is, not being very well up on this sort of thing, as my actual loan period has finished, and all due monthly payments had been made, would it be right for them to try and start litigation and repossession proceedings, because the more i think about it all i owe them for is for added on charges and other fees apart from the usual interest. the other thing is, they did say that no more interest would be added to the account, but yesterday we received a letter with a mini statement showing that another 2 months interest has been applied to the account for september and october.
i do not want to stop paying them something every month, and i did originally tell them that i would keep the direct debit running while i pursue fighting the questionable, unjustified charges. i managed it last month but this month was short so cancelled the DD to avoid any charges with my bank but sent them a cheque for £75 which was all i could afford, along with an explanation as to why. if i carry on paying what i can afford, what is the chances of staving them off repossession. i have tried writing several letters but they just ignore every one. due the possible seriousness of the situation i feel that i need everything in writing, not a phone conversation. i did put in a SAR, which i have now got back and need to go through properly but it seems very basic with just a copy of my original agreement along with a statement for the five years. no copies of letters or calls etc. for which they have charged me, or any proof of insurance policies taken out by them.
sorry for the long post but it is doing my head in, i just wish i had never had any dealings with blemain or ocean.

Can you give us a break down of this extra £4100? So we can see what it is they are actually trying to claim from you.

Also it would help if you could post up a copy of the loan agreement complete with terms, but cover up your person details and account number.
