    Re: baliff advice needed

For some strange reason my neighbour 'likes' her bailiff,,I gave her shedloads of advice (gleaned from here,,thanks LBers ) and was stunned when she turned around and said,,No,I can't be bothered to fight it (even tho she is now classed as vulnerable) '' I'd rather just pay the bailiff than bother to ring council and the bailiff is quite friendly'' OF COURSE HE'S FRIENDLY ,YOU DIPSTICK,,HE IS RIPPING YOU OFF !! No flipping helping some people !!

want to thank u for the advise given to date. to keep you updated I wrote to the baliff in regards to data protection asking for all copies of letters/calls etc, ( forgot to put cheque in tho) wrote to council asking again for them to take debt back & to notify them that the baliff have made ridiculas charges & said where taking a car not mine, they again have refused & said that newlyn will check with dvla if car is mine if not then charges will be removed. newlyns are now saying that i have breached my agreement and not paid on correct day, i have agreement with bas council not them to pay on the 29th ( to newlyns) not days before make payments on line immediate transfer just seems the more i ask newlyn for questions about their cahrges they complain about something else or charge me again for late payment any more advice would be greatly accepted thanks in avance.

Bailiff companies are not permitted to impose any charges not permitted by legislation. Keep paying the local authority via their automated payment system or internet banking. Make sure you budget for legitimate bailiff fees.

You can have a bailiff company's fees scrutinised by a County Court Registrar, if necessary. Make sure you have the bailiff's full name, certificating court and issue and expiry date of their bailiff certificate if you do have to go down this route as the Registrar can report the bailiff to their certificating court if they find evidence of misconduct including excessive or unlawful charges. I am not saying that it will, but as well as p*ssing-off Newlyn, it might bring them to their senses and drop the excessive/illegal charges.
