  • Charging Fees to DCA'a and Banks..

Considering how banks and credit card companies readily charge mandatory fees for late payment, defaults, over limit etc etc, what is stopping customers from applying their own fee schedules and charging the banks and credit card companies DCA's, bailiffs et al ?

When something outside the routine occurs, which necessitates the customer spending time dealing with the failings of these organisations to conduct themselves in a correct manner, would it be appropriate to apply a schedule of fees to charge for the time/inconvenience ?

I had in mind, for example, contact by a DCA via phone or personal visit when instructed not to do so, fees of £500 per transgression ? Similarly, Credit Cards that add spurious charges that require contesting, and reclaiming...why can we not apply a charge for the work involved in collating the information, writing letters and making phone calls etc...not our fault, theirs... why not a fee of £1,000 for this ?

    has anyone tried it ?
