    Hi all
Had a letter from the above stating they have been passing my payments onto circuit financial because I should have been paying them since March 2011
I did get a letter from circuit about that time but ignored it because Monument had not written to tell me the account had been passed on (typical not sure who to pay )
Should I wait for circuit to get in touch and put the payment to one side or carry on paying Monument

    Re: Monument

The first thing you need to do is find out from Monument why they did not inform you they had passed your account to Circuit Financial and, also, why Circuit Financial did not inform you they had taken over the account. The best thing to do is put payments to one side and write to both Monument and Circuit Financial to enquire -

    a. as to why neither of them informed you of the change; and
    b. as to whom all future payments should be made.

State that you are putting payments to one side until such time as they inform you as to whom all future payments should be made, at which time you will release all accrued payments to whomsoever payments should be made.

Hi Bluebottle thanks for your reply
I did complain to Monument at the time about them not informing me my account had been passed on
Monument did acknowledge my complaint but its taken 15 months to come back with the answer I got above
Circuit sent all the usual threats but I carried on paying Monument direct

        Re: Monument

It's surprising what a bit of digging can reveal. Monument and Circuit Financial Solutions are trading names of CompuCredit UK Limited.

I would be inclined to make a formal complaint against both Monument and Circuit Financial Solutions to OFT Credit Fitness Team. You can do this by email to enquiries@oft.gsi.gov.uk and insert CREDIT FITNESS in the subject box. Give a clear and concise resume of your complaint. You will need to quote the following details in your complaint -

Company Name: CompuCredit UK Limited t/a "Circuit Financial Solutions" and "Monument"
Credit Licence Nos.: 0597542 (Circuit Financial Solutions) and 356017 (Monument)

It is a requirement of OFT Debt Collection Guidelines to inform debtors if a debt is being passed to another debt collector. This clearly has not been done in your case. I am attaching a copy of the OFT Debt Collection Guidelines to this post. Read through them, note any infringements and list them in your complaint to OFT Credit Fitness Team.

You should also report the matter to your local Trading Standards Department.
