I've been being harassed by Lowell, Red and Hamptons Legal about allegedly unpaid Vodafone bills which I haven't used for 6 years!
All the threads and information I've seen here are really helpful for me so I'm going to take some real actions to stop this nonsense now.
But I just can't keep wondering how this possibly could happen. Is this legally allowed? Why aren't these boys in jail for what they have done? Isn't it a criminal offence? How do they make money out of this and why is Vodafone supporting them???
By saying 'supporting', surely Vodafone passed on my personal details to Red/Lowell in the first place and that's why they were able to trace me on my new mobile number as well. It looks like I'm not alone here. I was outraged. The guy on the phone from Red was asking if I could give them my address so they can 'identify' me. Bull crap. I said to them 'You should tell me what this is about first, so that I can fully discuss this. I won't give out my details just because you're asking for it! And tell me how you got hold of my mobile number.' He couldn't answer my question so kept repeating 'We cannot give out any information about our clients' like an idiot.
And how are they able to put 'default' on my credit record based on a false information like this? This is absolutely unacceptable. I have been trying to open savings account with better deals and I have been being rejected and never understood why.
Is there an official authority where I can file a complaint? These guys are making my life miserable, not alone wasting my precious time and money (postage/paper/printing etc)!!!
I'm more annoyed with Vodafone, because I have been their loyal customer for years and years before I chose another network with a better deal. And now there's a problem, Vodafone customer service only sent me a short reply saying that they want me to deal with Lowell. Seeing other posts it's perhaps best to request a full account history.
Sorry, pressed 'save' while on the phone. I'm not so good at multi tasking!
