Having, unfortunately, had dealings with each of the following debt collectors: Blair, Oliver & Scott, Moorcroft Debt Recovery, NDR Money and Mercers, I can say, with absolute honesty, that they all act in the same disgraceful manner.
Namely, they always fail to acknowledge all letters sent to them, even by recorded delivery.
They all fail to acknowledge payments made, even when sent evidence of receipts.
They are all very rude and condescending, making blatantly degoratory statements in their letters, as well as constantly failing to tell the truth.
They all demand payment of monies previously paid to original creditor. Their figures are always too high and they always fail to acknowledge statements sent to to them showing the true, much lower sums owed.
In short, they are nasty, bent and dishonest. Anyone unfortunate to have to deal with them needs to be robust and tenacious. Just keep sending them the info by recorded delivery over and over again. Send copies to the FOS. If need be, report them to the OFT and local trading standards.
