Hi all,
I'm posting this for a friend, she's just been on the phone to tell me the tale and I thought you guys could give her some help
My friend wanted to re mortgage to get a new kitchen, she passed initial credit check fine, she went to finalise it all today and was told that she had failed the CRA check.
She was advised that she has a CCJ for £31,000 pounds against her!
After some tracking, she discovered that Moorcroft registered this CCJ, so she called Moorcroft with the reference number of the judgement, they said, "that was for a catalogue debt that you settled on the same day we applied for a CCJ, the amount of the catalogue debt was £310.00. We must of put a comma instead of a full stop on the papers!" Don't worry I can confirm that in writing for you, and we'll sort out the CRA's"
My friend then contacted Northampton, and they said well if you want it removing you'll have to pay the admin charge and provide all the proof.
Now because I have a jaded opinion of Moorcroft, and they simply seem too helpful, I wouldn't trust them to update anyone and as it was their error surely my friend shouldn't have to pay for the judgement removal? and that's not starting on all the stress and embarrassment my friend has had to endure.
I'm not sure, what do you guys think and where would you begin??
Hopefully, said friend will sign up to forum shortly to take over the thread and answer any questions
