  • Moorcroft DMP

    Hey there

    i'd like some advice please

I'm currently on a DMP with Moorcroft over an Orange account
    I owe around £400

Due to financial hardship i've defaulted on the £20 a month agreement and i've been sending them a token payment of £1 for the past 2 months and i'm scared about them now taking me to court

What are the realistic chances of them taking me to court because I didn't pay the £20?

    Thanks a lot

Almost zero. If they're collecting on behalf of Orange they have to take you to court with Orange anyway, they can't just do it off their own backs.

What are the chances of Orange taking me to court then?

Taking people to court is now very expensive and if they did take you to court any judge would not order you to pay more than you can afford ie £1 a month so it wouldn't be worth their while.

Mobile 'phone contracts are bad news imo. They have defaulted you and that's locked on your credit files for 6 years. And just because you couldn't afford to pay your cell 'fone bill. Many more people get late payment markers automatically filed because DDs bounce as well, which, in the current credit market, often means they can't get mortgages or whatever as a result. Totally wrong imo. Rant over.
