  • Payment offer

Hi I am new to this, At the start of the year before the account went into arrears , I wrote to Egg asking for payments to be £1 this was due to being unemployed and receiving nothing from the DHSS but NI also I went in for a total knee replacement, I enclosed copies of the letters from DHSS and the hostpital, this meet with a pay your bill response. I have written a number of time and got no response. they have now passed it to there own DCA, I have had a chat with my partner and she offered to pay at £100 per month this two meet with its not enough. what should my stand point be.

Hi. I have a LOT of experience in dealing with Egg and what you have described above is TYPICAL Egg behaviour. Over the course of the past 18 months I've learnt that Egg are actually probably much more inept than intentionally difficult. I say this as I have a FOS Adjudication in my favour which Egg have failed to honour and even the Ombudsman has told me that Egg are arse over elbow at present and one half doen'r speak to the other.

What sort of Egg product was it? Loan? Card? Which DCA have they instructed?

Do you have any grounds to dispute this account? For instance, was any PPI sold with the loan /card? Any late payment charges to claim back?

My Egg loans and card were consolidated into one big Egg loan I eventually defaulted on. It then went to capQuest for several years. What started out as a request for data under a SAR and CCA request evolved into a dispute about PPI, charges, mis-selling and poor responses. I eventually shook off CapQuest and a couple of other DCAs in the process and started paying Egg what i could AFFORD to pay them direct.

If and when you get rid of the DCA, I suggest you pay Egg direct what you want to pay. I have found them accepting those payments, which are pretty minimal it must be said.

Send Egg a SAR request with £10 by recorded post and see what comes back. If you find a good cause for a dispute then start one and you can tell the DCA to foxtrot.

OK so if I applied on line what is the stance I should take, as there will be no signitures from anyside.

I applied on-line as well, I think we all do for Egg accounts? Makes no difference. Their Subject Access Request sends you screen shots and you still get copy statements.

Is this a credit card or loan?

Its a card, but I have made an offer |that I could afford, the consumer credit act states you can pay only what you can afford, also I think that as I instergatedaction before the account got into arrers, and all egg have done is say pay does this not also constitut a biased relationship.
