Does anyone know if the ICO impose penalties on firms that are proved to be recording inaccurate data or failing to keep data up to date? Does the ICO award anything to the consumer?

Fortunately the offending data is from this year.
But useful to know the 12 months' rule for future purposes.
Thx.
Dunno whether it's official - I suspect that I'm being fobbed off! (probably having to deal with 1yr+ queries will impinge on their 3hr lunchbreak lol)
Maybe one of the more influential members of this site (one of the mods, maybe,) could use their considerable clout to shed some light? (Or would this impinge......? lol)CAVEAT LECTOR

Re: Information Commissioner's Office
yeah but whether its official or not as we all know, what matters is how they respond and deal with it. to that extent we are at their mercy. same with FOS, who refused to look into my charges claims going back more than 6 years.
