  • Fred's need some chips for their Phish

Received in the post this morning

    Dear Mrs CB,

We have made enquires for confirmation of your current place of residence. Information has been received confirming that your address details have changed to this address.

Due to data protection legislation details of the account are not included in this letter.

Please call us immediately on 0845 23456789 quoting the above reference for more information.
Oh dearie me, what a steaming pile.

Well I guess it's debt sale time of year yet again.
I KNOW for a fact that there is nothing outstanding that I haven't already dealt with. So, I guess it's time to wait and see if they can be bothered to write again, or set the paraloony wing on us
A letter from Mr C would be an interesting addition to my collection.

I am quaking in my boots lol that lowlife still has not learn't that debt collection does not pay or at least not for him lol

And I wish he would change his surname as I hate my surname being tarnished in such a way

Glad Mr C's like him are few and far between
If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of payments.

What a weird letter!! Presumeably they can never give you details of the account without first confiriming it is you they have contacted - so as you are not going to confirm that, they can never give you details of the account never mind pursue it. Losers.

It is pretty desperate logic, isn't it? :biggrin1:

I had one of these too a little while ago:

                  http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...1&postcount=31

Have to admit I hadn't really thought about the end of tax year and that DCA's may sell the debts to each other as a way of balancing their books/fiddling the taxman or other financial purposes.

Well, well, well I guess they just couldn't wait.
Got an LBA, giving me 7 days to pay up or else, from them this morning for an ancient account that has already been through FOUR other DCA's.

I guess this goes on the I pile and see what, if anything, they do next.

                    Certainly screams of desperation.

Re: Fred's need some chips for their Phish

I had an LBA from freds a couple of weeks ago. Since then I've had the famous yellow card stating that they have confirmed my residence. Got another letter in the post today saying i have failed to make an acceptable repayment proposal, do not ignore this letter, THIS DEBT WILL NOT GO AWAY blah blah blah.....

Whatever happened to court action 7 days after the LBA!!!

Court action in 7 days, yeah right.
That would be a breach of CPR, especially with the overriding objective in mind, ie making arrangements without the need to involve the courts.

he was very generous and offered me 14 days to respond..

Looks like we're on a similar journey CB.... Mr. Carter has just sent me a love letter as well.... :billk:.... lol!
                              Remember the mantra :
                              NEVER communicate by 'phone.
                              Send EVERYTHING by Recorded/Special Delivery
Keep a copy of EVERYTHING sent
                              Keep hold of EVERYTHING received

The following have all backed off/lost the battle:

A & L PLC; A & L Finance Ltd; Global Debt Management Services Ltd; Shoosmiths (solicitors); Fenton Cooper; Mack Hall; Moorcroft x2; HFC; Barclaycard; Mercers; The Lewis Group; CL Finance; Cabot; M&S Financial Services, Triton, Green & Co. (solicitors)....

F&F settlement of a £52K ex-repossession shortfall... and now own my home once again....

Currently dealing with Tesco (RBS) & Moorcroft for the 3rd time.... lucky, lucky me!!! .... :-)

Life is like a game of Chess.... watch the enemy, defend yourself against aggressive manouvres and when in doubt, move a pawn....
