  • Hello,

Hiya everyone, I'm new here. I hope someone can help me.

My son received a letter at my address this morning. He hasn't lived here for 12 years.

It's for a debt of 154.24 to Littlewoods (Janet Fraser)

Shop direct finance company ltd have transferred the account to MKDP LLP, and they have appointed HL solicitors to manage the account.

I rang my son in work to ask him about it, and he said he has never had a Janet Fraser catalogue. He told me to ring them.

I rang HL solicitors, I was told it was from 1999! I said to the lady on the phone that my son hasn't lived here for 12 yrs and he's never had this catalogue. She said she can't tell me any more, and needs to speak to my son.

I just don't understand why now after 11 yrs this letter has come here. We've had no other letters at all.

Thanks in advance for any help. :noidea:

    Re: Hello,

Honestly, this is completely Statute Barred and as such they should NOT be demanding payment. They CANNOT take any further action on this.

Next step, IGNORE all further correspondence from these people. If it makes you feel better, simply return them unopened with Not Known on them.

        Re: Hello,

Oh yeah also forgot to mention, NEVER talk to these "people" on the phone as all they are interested in is a payment. They don't care were it comes from as long as they get it.

          Re: Hello,

Hi everyone, fantastic forum, stumbled opon it by accident and soo glad I did, i just wish I found it years ago as it would have saveD me from a lot of financial grief and headache etc, I too have had a letter out of the blue concerning MKDP LLP, a very mysterious letter/company to say the least, they basically 'stole' my current account when there were funds still remaining in there and now asking me to pay sum £900.00 to them..... good luck I say, I hope they are good at whistling !! I still want the funds that were remaining in there at the time, when I went to the bank all they could tell me was that my account was closed for some reason and that was it.... how dare they sell MY current account on to them, they aint the easiest of things to open anymore.....

Thanks to everyone on here for being so honest about their vulnerabilities in regards to their personal experience with 'legal fraud' this is the year of 'not wearing it anymore' we ALL need to be re-educated on COMMON LAW, its the ONLY way forward...... thanks again and I will help when I can and keep you updated on my own situation - KICKINGBACK2011.

Hi, I'm new to this as well, I received a telephone call from MKDP last week who informed me that Littlewoods have appointed them to recover £100 outstanding since 1997! I was surprised by this as I did have an account with Littlewoods (although I had forgotten about it completely) but thought the the balance had been cleared and the account closed. If I do owe this money I am really surprised that it has taken Littlewoods 14 years to try to recover the outstanding balance, I have lived at the same address since 1992 so it wouldn't have been hard for them to track me down sooner.

I asked the representative to put details of my debt in writing as I was not about to pay money over the phone to a company which I have never heard of who called me "out of the blue". I have now received two letterS from one of which arrived yesterday and one which arrived today implying that I have ignored previous attempts to contact me (apparently 2 previous letters were sent to me in December 2010 but I have never received them) and threatening further action if I do not come to an arrangement!

              Re: Hello,

Again firmly statute barred, so nothing in a court can be done follow curlybens good advice in this thread.
If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of payments.
