    Hi ive got a ccj i owed 4k the bailiffs now say its gone up to 6k and intrest is being added daily.ive been told if i go to the court and pay the oringal 4k and get a reciept from the court the bailiffs cannot chase me for the rest is this true.thanks

    Who is telling you this?? Are they actually bailiffs or are they a debt collection agency?? Normally interest can only be added to a CCJ if this part of the judgement. We could do with more information about the CCJ and about the original debt in order to be able to help.

      Hi the amount was 4200 ive just spoke to the lady who now says its 6500 owed she sayed there not bailiffs or dept agy.there the high court sheffiffs based in croydon.and theres nothing i can do about the intrest being added.apart from make a lum sum payment and then pay monthley.or make a offer to pay the full amount.they sayed the offer will be put to the client.shes emailing me the forms.its stressing me out thanks for your help

        there the called sheriffs high court enforcement ltd.and have a notice of seizure.the ccj was for a item i sold they claimed it was unroadworthy.hence the ccj

          You would have recieved a copy of the CCJ. What does this actually say about adding interest and charges to the judgement??

            If, like me, you have hidden from your CCJ's (lots of us have so don't worry) I would assume the court must have a copy. Maybe someone with more experience than me can advise on where to get a copy of it if you haven't got it - I know mine were shredded!

            We do need to know what it said though as it's unusual to be able to add interest. They are however permitted to add bailiffs fees - are you sure that's not what they're doing?
