  • Moorcroft ignoring letters

    I have sent Moorcroft three letters with confirmed delivery requesting a copy of the credit agreements of the two accounts they have for me.

    They have totally failed to acknowledge receipt of the letters - I have heard nothing at all from them. I have called them, but they deny receipt of the letters. I have retained proof of delivery.

    I would be grateful for advice about the next steps. I am aware they must provide original documents in order to enforce the debt, but am reluctant to simply stop paying without further advice.

    Thanks;

    Are you paying Moorcroft for these accounts ?
    As you have proof of delivery the ball is firmly in their court and until they comply you are perfectly entitled to cease payment until they comply.

      And do not under any circumstances call them or talk to them on the phone, remember the golden rule, everything in writing only.

        It appears to be a common tactic of DCAs to deny receipt of recorded delivery letters, etc., in an attempt tp frustrate their victims. I experienced this with Capquest, sane thing, when I had paid and asked for aCCA and Sars. When the cheque cleared for the statutory fee for the documents, needless to say they backed down, as the cheque was in with the recorded delivery!

        I eventually found out why they did not want me to see the CCA or SARS. There was a problem and CapQuest were forced to close the account.

        Maybe Moorcroft's don't want you to see your file. Maybe they also have something to hide?
        Thanks!

          as stated above, youre perfectly entitled to withold payments due to their unreasonable lack of due dilligence, IMHO, send them a letter putting account in dispute and telling them, no further payments will be made until proof of documents is supplied.

            They don't have an adequate response to make so they act dumb instead. It means you have them in a corner.
