  • question about debt assigment

As well as another matter I have an ongoing dispute with Bank of Scotland/Halifax
They sold two small debts to CABOT and I HAVE been paying the since but when I phoned re notice of assigment (which I did NOT get) they said that because I had been paying them I did not need this..is this right?
Can I dispute and stop paying them or is it best to dispute and carry on paying?
(Now demanded everying thing in writing after a long conversation from someone that appeared to be in outer Mongolia)
    Thanks

      Re: question about debt assigment

      Thanks, interesting reading.
Should I write (again) asking for a subject access?
All they sent last time was a letter saying I would have to contact Bank of Scotland
Am still paying them the small amounts agreed but ideally would like to see the back of them.
The argument was that if I was paying I was agreeing that the deblt existed, but ppi was added to both in the guise of "card care" and the Bank of Scotland reply got confused with another account!:tinysmile_aha_t:
