    hi all

i recently received a letter from the above asking me to contact them , which i did . i was told that i owed them £1925 and that they wanted payment in full. After questioning them i was told that the debt was from 1999 with Nationwide Credit Card and i last made a payment in 2005 ? as i dont want a mark on my credit file i agreed to pay them a min payment of £32.10 pm for 5 years to clear the debt.

This was on 14/7/10 , now after thinking a bit more about it i emailed them asking for a copy of their file and confirmation of the agreement start date, dates of payments i made and how much etc..... today i received a letter advising that frederickson are no longer instructed and have returned the acount to their client ????? Now i'm confused !

Can i be chased for this or not ?? i really dont know what to do, can anyone help????

Me thinks they have been more than free with the truth here. Seems they have run off when lawfully challenged.
Do you remember making any payments in 2005 to this debt and have you actually made any recently ?
Also WHO exactly is demanding payment on this, Fred or Arrow, as they are 2 different companies ?

The letter is from Frederickson but it states their client is Arrow Global.

So i'm assuming i'll be getting a letter off Arrow next?

I have not made any recent payments , and couldnt say if i did make 1 payment in 2005 , being 5 years ago. Its sometrhing i had long forgotten about!

My concern is that this old debt could have an effect on my partner or should i say his options when he comes to remortgage the house in the future.

Time to put your mind at ease.
Debts are PERSONAL matters, whether married or not they are not transferable.

Now if Fred's are collecting for Arrow that makes more sense.
A DCA collecting on behalf of another DCA have ZERO legal rights, hence the reason why they dropped you when you questioned them.

As this debt is either close of in actual fact statute barred that would also make sense.
Seems to be the right time of year for zombies to surface.

Anyway, should Global Arrow make contact, give us a shout.
Either way have a read of the first link in my signature, it will help a great deal.
Best to deal with DCA's via snail mail as it gives a great papertrail should the need arise.
