    Re: Sealion v Capquest

Just keep is simple, after all whoever reads may NOT have access to the corporate brain cell that day

Just use the fancy handwriting font for your name at then end.

      Re: Sealion v Capquest

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. I shall send the "proove it" letter with fancy font at the end.
I am worried about this, but will do as you say.
Thank you once again for your kind help

          Re: Sealion v Capquest

I am worried about putting my name at the end of the letter - I will put the address at the top, if they have my address and they will know its an old debt. They will know its out of date - are they just trying it on and trying to frighten me? Can I get away without putting a name at all ??
          What do you say please?

            Re: Sealion v Capquest

You MUST put your name on it otherwise they will continue to make demands as you haven't satisfied Data Protection.

If you want "sign" it in the manner they have already addressed the other letters in, that way it wont confuse them

Yes they are completely phishing, but it's (twisted) fun to play games with DCA's, especially when you know there is NO hope of them taking any action.

You could always try this on and see how you do: Legal Beagles Consumer Forum #3

                Re: Sealion v Capquest

Also, about 8 years ago I did get eventually (as I had moved) a letter from the actual creditor saying they were going to take me to court in my absence to make me bankrupt and to register the debt. Does this mean that the debt never goes away and the 6 year rule is null and void? I did not hear any more about it then or since, so don't know if it went to court or not. But last month I sucessfully applied for a credit card and current account including debit card. Would I have been given this if I had been made bankrupt. I don't know if I have or not. Advice please. Thank you

                  Re: Sealion v Capquest

IF they had indeed taken court action you would of found out about it.
The fact you have recently got a card shows they where taking cobblers, as normal.

Well there we go then - sorted. Will send the letter off with an "odd font sig" but will send next week, dont want them to think they have worried me - only the Beagles know that.

Thank you - you have made me feel so much better over this, I will let you know if and when I receive a relpy. CurlyBen you are a star, thank you

CQ are old "friends" of mine.
Actually most of the DCA industry has had a go at me at one time or another

Only a few left, but I'm now scraping the bottom of the barrel.

My score is individual DCA's not number of contacts.
This all for 8 accounts for the wife and I and 7 for my brother.

wow - why were we worried at this end. We do have a further problem we would like to run past you. But the wife wants to get everything together and ask you about it tomorrow if that ok?

                          Feel free I'm always around.
You've certainly come to the right site for focused DCA advice.

It all seems really daunting when these things kick off, but you soon realise that it's mostly a game, and WE know the rules

I felt pretty similar when my first DCA letter hit the mat threatening all sorts including cancelling Christmas. I soon found out that they carefully use these letters in an attempt to get you to call them and then brow beat you into payment. On the whole most of what they say boarders on harassment, in some case on the wrong side of that border.

Have I been "naughty", maybe a little, but if the OC's where willing to act in a reasonable and lawful manner then most of these activities could be avoided.

It's about time they where all brought to book.

Hi Curlyben, thank you for the address, is this person of some importance at Capquest?, I am are going to send off the letter on Monday, also I logged into Experian just to find out what was on my credit file, and I am as clean as a whistle, no black marks anywhere, no CCJ's or anything else, it would appear that Capquest are dancing in the dark, I find it rather annoying that I still have to play along with this company of plankton, when they know exactly what I know, and that is that I am clean, and yet they are still trying to threaten me with a court action, there is a good probability that they will get money out of me, when Nelson gets his eye back,
Kind Regards & Best wishes Sealion, (worried no longer)

It's better to fire something of this nature at a named person/department rather than the general mailing addresses, as you will get a proper response, rather than being thrown back into the Treat-O-Matic's clutches.
