  • Overdue account by 5 yrs!!

    HI There,
    this morning i had a letter come through the door from a debt collection agency "CARS" asking for payment against a Talk Talk Broadband account for the sum of £460.

    After some digging it appears to be registered against an address that i have never lived at in Birmingham. This is the new address of my ex Wife which i have been separated from and now subsequently divorced from for 5 years.

    Although i cannot get anyone to talk to me from Talk Talk it appears that she has ignored the letters and left the account from our matrimonial home unpaid even though i have been left for 5 years now. she has now moved and the bill appears to have followed her but i has my name on it.. Talk talk only show the current address she is living at which i have no knowledge so i cannot even pass any security questions to discuss it with them.

    To the best of my knowledge i closed this account when i left but as it was so long ago i have no proof of this now.

    where do stand now? am i liable for a service that i can prove i have not used for 5 years. Also it is tagged against an address that i have never lived at. this is causing considerable problems as talk talk wont respond to me as i cannot answer the address questions for which the account is registered against..

    please help?

    You are not responsible for this bill and this is typical of TalkTalk. First of all, stop talking to them. There is nothing to be gained by telephoning them.

    Write to them and inform them that you have no knowledge of this bill, have never lived at the address to which it relates and that you will not be paying it.

      hi

      had trouble with talktalk a few years back when they changed from onetel. ive lost the file but i think this is the address i finally got sense from;

      Customer Liaison Manager
      Carphone Warehouse
      PO Box 344
      Unit 19
      Southampton
      SO30 2NP

      Phoning talktalk is pointless they will tell you anything to get you off the phone but nothing ever comes of whatever they agree.
