  • Philips collection services & BCW

Hi, I'm sorry if my question is answered somewhere else, I have had a quick look and can't find anything. ...

I sent a letter to all my creditors at the end of August with I&E details, explaining that I'm in a bit of a stuck position at the moment, with partner leaving and getting ill....I asked for my debts to be written off or an alternative solution. I received no written response from BCW (M&S card originally) - and continued to receive phone calls. I know they received my letter on the 9th September and told them I wouldn't discuss anything on the phone and was waiting for their reply. Today I received a letter from Philips Collection Services (Specialist Bailiff and Debt recovery Agents):

"We write to inform you we have been instructed to commecce recovery procedures against you for the collection of the above arrears which remain outstanding to BCW group PLC.
Full payment of the outstanfing amounts is hereby demanded withint seven days of this notice to prevent further recovery procedures commencing.

    blah blah"

What do I write back? I know it will be a simple case of rewording another letter but I'm note sure with a bailiff and am a bit worried they might jsut turn up as they seem to think they can do what they like.

    File it under I

A DCA acting for another DCA has ZERO legal powers or rights !!

I had a similar letter from these "lovely people" and simply filed it. Had another, but nowt after that.

I must admit to being slightly impressed at the quality of paper and letter employed by this DCA, a serious step up from the more normal rubbish I've seen in my endeavours..

I know what you mean about the paper :tinysmile_grin_t:. I've never seen a barcode for ease of payment before either. Thanks for your advice - I'll file it. Should I just ignore the fact that BCW didn't reply to my letter or should I chase it?

Are BCW acting for Activ Krapital per chance ?

You have informed BCW of your situation, so it's up to them to respond, which is unlikely..

I think they are! On my file I have written M&S then Moorcroft (crossed out) Aktiv Krapital (crossed out) then BCW....I think that's it. All my files seem to be like that....it's all mad

Just found a letter from Credit Security LImited ... who say they've been instructed by their client (they don't say who the client is) to recover an overdue Lloyds cc debt. I wrote to Allied Credit about that debt in the wave I sent out in August. They didn't reply either! At least I know what to do about it. What a pain though.

My guess is it's an AK debt and they have been farming it round as they don't have any of the needed paperwork.

CSL, yet another bottom feeding DCA that acts as agent.

In cases like this, defiantly file under I..
