I have 3 accounts with UCA...

They collect for American Express Credit Cards....

I cca'd them on the 24/6/09 & have heard nothing...

We had trouble locating an address for these, Im assuming the 1 in the original thread was ok as I've had no return to sender letters through my door...

They have told my dmc that if I pay an extra £7 a month they will freeze the interest on my account...

I dont have the postal receipt in front of me... my 'flu friend' has it in their car.. Once I am in receipt of it I will let you know!

When I get the receipt I will check where I sent the letter to...

My dmc has since given me this address for UCA...

I did send American Express the preliminary charges letter & they just wrote back saying that their £8 charge is ok & that its clearly stated in my (invisible) agreements what the rules are..

I've got the postal receipts & the uca 1's address isnt verified......... should I send the cca out again to cover my back? .....altho' I did send it recorded delivery so doesn't that cover me?................

cca default letter sent 13/08/09 to uca & payment has been stopped.

UCA have just rang me & are calling back in an hour because I told them I was cooking. I also told them (apologetically) that I couldnt really speak to them because they had defaulted under the cca & that the ball was in their court & once they provided me with my cca request, I would resume paying them.... I also asked them to write to me but they said that they wanted to speak to me......... Any advice?

Stick to your guns Shas.

Answer their call but insist that you will not discuss anything over the phone and they should contact you in writing.

They probably plan try to scare you into resuming payments.

All the usual really.
Everything in writing, you're recording the calls, etc.
Be civil and admit nowt, after all it's their job to provide the agreement as required by CCA s78(1).

Oh yeah and ask them exactly what UCA stands for

NCO/RMA, binned them yyyyyeeeeeaaaaarrrrrssss ago after collecting almost a full set of calling cards.

They'll insist that they are a telephone based DCA and as such don't send out letters

Well it seems that despite defaulting on my cca request, Amex have passed all 3 accounts to Moorcroft.

I've had 3 letters from their 'pre-court division'....
Should I send them a letter with a copy of my original cca request?.............
