i have just had a phone call from my father
stating that he has recieved a letter from lowells on an apparent
failure to pay a account which has been passed on too them by the barclay card people
from 2005 which now they are passing on to a company called clarity
the only problem i have is i have never had a barclay card and also its got my name on it but may fathers address and i have not lived there for 15 years or more and have never used his address any info would be useful thank you
first time user so i hope ive done this right

Hello Everybody,

Have a dispute regarding a credit card, which of course is in legal dispute. Have had a battle with the creditors for 18months, you know the game, ca pre-contractual application form for a store card from 1994, which they insist is enforcable on a upgraded credit card (different account no) from 2001. They set Moorcroft, Fenton Cooper and Rockwell to put the frighteners on me and they retreated very graciously. They stopped writing to me and have heard nothing from them for a good long while.

They have now assigned it to Lowell Portfolio, so round two is about to commence.


Any tips on their tactics would be appreciated.

There is obviously a dispute with the original creditor (OC), so send them the prior dispute with an OC template letter. I have done this several times and it worked each time. in fact, Lowell's had to writ off 10 500 quid with my dispute! They are an absolute bunch of idiots and one of the easiest DCAs to get rid off. They are just chancers who break the law in an effort to extort money out of people.

Hello. bit of an update. After 3 years of basically ignoring these muppets. They passed it on to another dca, no change there then. Must have been a bit bored one day so wrote to this new dca, stating ????? who has given you my personal details so you can threaten me They replied "oh we are working for Lowells and only acting in good faith etc etc. they retreated hastily and passed it back to Lowells, who then deceided to investigate my complaint!!!!! How gracious of them, I never wrote to them complaining.

I have waited patiently for their response it has come and a lovely polite letter it is too!

Dear Madam.

BLAH BLAH Blah giving all sorts of valid reasons why they have done what they have done but with no liability they are closing the ? account and I will not be hearing from them again.

Unfortunately for them they will be hearing from me
