I submitted a complaint to Ombudsman in 2022 after a supplier did not refund returned goods and I had submitted a chargeback as PayPal refused to help. My PayPal account ended up sitting on a negative plus they wanted to charge late fees on top. The ombudsman ruled in my favour, and PayPal also agreed to cancel the total amount plus late charges. It was also suggested they paid a compensatory amount, which was never received.
However, today I have receive a letter from Lowell to say they have bought my debt from PayPal! I have reached out to the Ombudsman again to reopen my case but I wanted to gauge your expertise in this situation.
