  • you have the wrong person

I moved into my house 18 months ago and since moving in i recieve 3-4 debt letters every day for the previous tenants,At first i just returned them as there was no forwarding address but still they came,Then i phoned them and asked them to stop and they just sent more,At present there are about 15-20 companies sending letters how do i stop them my recycling bin is full of them and i cannot convince these firms that the debtors do not live here any more,Will this affect my credit rating.

Just write on the letters 'not at this address' and stuff them in the post box.
Borrow money from a pessimist -- they don't expect it back.

Continue sending them back with Unknown on them. There is NO point in calling them and explaining as they will ignore you anyway.
They will eventually get the idea.
If not simply bin them, as you are breaking the law opening mail that isn't addressed to you.

As for your credit rating, it shouldn't have any effect, but it's worth doing a check in case they have made a link.
