  • Being chased for debt for judgement that got successfully set aside 2 years ago

My mother (disabled, vulnerable) had some building works done 2 years ago by Aspect (cowboy company), who massively overcharged her and never actually ended up doing the work they promised.
They tried to take the money out of her account but luckily it got blocked on fraud grounds by her bank. They then relentlessly chased the debt, which she disputed, and they tried to get a CCJ against her which was set aside in court after we provided a lot of evidence.

This happened back in 2021, and everything was fine since then. All of a sudden, a nasty agency CRS got in touch with her demanding payment of this debt. We said the debt had already been set aside 2 years ago, and that continued contact would be constituted as harassment and demanded that contact is ceased and the matter be closed.

They've come back demanding a plethora of evidence to show 'why we dispute the debt for their client' and we just don't have the fight in us to go through this all over again.

What rights do we have here and how do I help her get these rats off of her back? She's becoming very ill with stress from this as we thought it had all been sorted out years ago
    Thank you!
