We are paying off an admitted former company debt to Natwest and recently have received a further demand for an alleged current account debt. Neither of us have ever had a personal account with Natwest and we suspect that they have switched names on a company account to my wife's name who was the MD at the time. We understand that this may be illegal and despite our asking them to substantiate this alleged debt they have not done so. What steps should we take to make them either put up or shut up. They have now passed this to a DCA claiming that we are defaulting on payment. Any help gratefully received.

Re: alleged current account
Opps sorry I have issues with links :o I thought I had linked everything up!
Essentially a SAR is a Subject Access Request, send the letter off to your bank with a £10 cheque and under the Data Protection Act they will send you all the information they have on the account.
