  • Resolvecall Doorstep Visit - Old debt, almost statute barred?

    Hi there,

I had a doorstep visit from a representative from Resolvecall yesterday. Fortunately I wasn't home but he pushed a note through the door asking me to contact head office to discuss my account. I have looked through my files and can see that this relates to an old debt that I'd struggled with when I went through a break up at my previous address. They appear to have tracked me down to my new address and, as I've been burying my head in the sand ever since and ignoring all letters, have now decided to send someone to my door... My new partner has no idea I have this debt so I'm worried sick that they'll call again. Is there any way I can stop them from calling at my home again? I'm not sure if this helps in any way but I have not made payment to them in over 6 years but did write to them in July 2017 to say I was in financial difficulty. I have not acknowledged the debt in any way since then so need to be very careful in how I manage this next step. Your help and advice would be much appreciated.
