Lowell debt help needed

Lowell claims I have a debt with them of £650.

The name of the person claiming that owes the money is wrong. First name is misspelled and last name is correct.

Can I just go ahead and ignore or should make contact and ask for more info?

They also somehow managed to find my new address and started to send me letters here - which I don't know how legal is that since I never spoke with them so far.

Any advice please?

I would just send them a letter saying that the address information is incorrect, if it is you that owes the debt then I would send them a letter asking them to prove it to guarantee that it isn't a mistake.

Unfortunately, it is legal for debt collectors to access a database and find your address and it is a method they use with thousands of debtors. For this reason, it could be a mistake and they could be looking for someone else.

It should all become clear when you send them a prove it letter and if not you can always check your credit report for free.
