Hi, plz help

Hi everyone!
I'm here for help with a debt that i've had since 2003 for 10k with Blackhorse, they passed it onto Mackenzie Hall who tried to contact me for a very long time but wern't successful, they even offered me half the debt but I didn't call them as i wanted to ignore it.
I gave them a call last week to settle an agreement of £3,000 and they got back to Blackhorse who've now passed it onto another agency called AIC or ARC and they demanding the full amount or pay a visit to my home and note assets which i don't have and probably put an application for bankruptcy.
They also tell me that there is a CCJ on me which i don't remember receiving and they can't even tell me which court that its with so I called Mackenzie Hall and they said they will let me know of the details.
Now i do't wanna go bankrupt as it will tar my financial status.
What shall i do? please help...

Did you receive a letter telling you that the debt had been passed to Mackenzie Hall ? and roughly how long ago did they make the offer of half ?
I gave them a call last week to settle an agreement of £3,000 where did you get the figure of £3k from ? and they got back to Blackhorse who've now passed it onto another agency called AIC or ARC and they demanding the full amount or pay a visit to my home and note assets which i don't have and probably put an application for bankruptcy.
They also tell me that there is a CCJ on me which i don't remember receiving and they can't even tell me which court that its with so I called Mackenzie Hall and they said they will let me know of the details.

Firstly please, please do not talk to any of them on the phone ever again, do everything in writing so you have a proper paper trail.
Write to Blackhorse and ask for an SAR Legal Beagles it gives them 40 days to comply.
Do the same to Mackenzie Hall ask them for a Statement of Account and ask for copies of lettters telling you who they passed the debt onto. Also include an account in dispute letter Legal Beagles adjust it to suit your circumstances and give them 7 days to comply.
Once they reply they should include the details of whom they have passed the account onto, and you should be able to find out more about the alleged CCJ.
Once your have the details of the new DCA we can try to sort this out.
Hope that helps.
Also in the SAR you might find that there are charges on the account and you could be able to claim them back and perhaps PPI if applicable too.
I'm sure someone else will pop along with a few other ideas too.

Firstly dont panic, there are lots of people in a similar situation as yourself. DCA's like sending scare letters to get people to pay up quicker.

There are lots of people on here who are very experienced at dealing with dca's and will be able to give you good advice.

Start a thread in the Debt forum Debts - Legal Beagles and give as much detail as you possibly can (not your personal details though) and someone will be along to help you out.

Have a read of some of the other threads as well it will give you a good idea of what will happen and general debt collection tactics

Also get a copy of your credit report it will ttell you if you do have a CCJ.

Oh our good "friends" Mucky Hall.
I haven't dealt with them in a while... This does make me wonder exactly what has gone on with this account ?!

Any way as for AIC they WONT be sending some one round at all, as the Pizza Dude has more rights to come over than some bully boy DCA.

As for there being a CCJ, I very much doubt it as Black horse would of held onto the debt and actioned it themselves.

It's unlikely that this has ever seen a court, as there would of been a shed load of paperwork generated.

Debt problem with Blackhore Finance

Hi everyone!
I'm here for help with a debt that i've had since 2003 for £6995 with interest totals up to 11k with Blackhorse, they passed it onto Mackenzie Hall who tried to contact me for a very long time through letters and warnings but wern't successful, eventually they even offered me half the debt back in November 2008 but I didn't call them as i wanted to ignore it.
I had a family member to act on my behalf and he gave them a call last week to settle an agreement of £3,000 max and they got back to Blackhorse who've now passed it onto another agency called AIC based in Scotland and they are demanding the full amount or pay a visit to my home and note assets which i don't have and probably put an application for bankruptcy.
They also tell me that there is a CCJ on me which i don't remember receiving so I signed up to Experian for a credit Report and have found out there is one on me but the court hasn't sent any letters or anything.
I called Mackenzie Hall and they said they will let me know of the details, they got back to me last week and told me that my case is closed and now its with AIC and to call Blackhorse for details of the CCJ.
AIC is also saying that they might put in an application inn for bankruptcy if that makes sense..

Now i do't wanna go bankrupt as it will tar my financial status.

Hello abdul,

sorry to hear about your troubles, do not go down the bankruptcy road, try to strike up communication with this debt collection company in writing only, don't speak to them on the phone as they will make you feel sick.

Explain to them of how the other company offered you a deal and see if you can cut a deal with them on your terms only.

Don't let them put you under any pressure and fully explain to them your current financial status, ie: are you suffering from a financial crisis that is no fault of your own, if so tell this to them so that a diologue of communication begins, do not ignore this company and do not be afraid of them.

You can get througth this very difficult time in your life if you remain positive and calm and talk to this company.

Keep posting and I will respond with what ever advice I can.

Okay, as Curly said earlier, the pizza guy has more chance of getting into your house than anyone on behalf of a DCA.
Yes, by all means deal with them in writing, in fact ONLY deal with them in writing, don't speak to them by phone AT ALL. Send them a letter requesting details of the alleged debt etc. There is one in the library. It is their responsibility to prove that you owe it, and how the debt has been built up etc. It is their responsibility to provide you with the details, not yours to go hunting for the details. This will probably prompt them to pass it back to the e OC (Original Creditor) Black Horse, which would be a better result, I would think.

I've also asked them to provide me with proof of a CCJ.
