Debt company taken too much money

I've just made contact with my bank who have informed me that the only way to stop the payment is to ask Whyte & Co for an authorisation code and to then call the bank back with the details. Whyte & Co are a debt collection company they won't hand those out willy nilly I'm assuming. I'm so stressed out and worried about all of this.

Whyte & Co are not a debt collector, they are Bailiffs and in this instance are working on behalf of your Council. It could be up to 10 days before they refund you themselves.

If you do ring Whytes again make sure you ask for their Welfare Dept - you do not have to explain to whoever answers the phone why you need to speak to them.

Just called whytes before i got this message as in a rush to collect my daughter from school they said its on their system to issue a refund could be 3 days could be 5 working days depending on my bank. They won't give me an authorisation code

The £362.50 has been refunded. How should I address the enforcement fee of £275.00 that they took even though I'm down on their system as a vulnerable person (single mother of a 5yr old and I have a history of mental health problems) is this something I could claim back? Many thanks

You would need to write to them about it pointing out they already have you on their system as a vulnerable person and that maybe the £235 Enforcement Fee should be waived.
