hi,i now have a default judgement as i responded to a claim form but forgot to fill out the accept or challenge debt part. ive not admitted liability however have sent them a SAR,which wasnt very helpful. southern water maintain that a default was applied to the account and subsequently dropped off. do utility providers have a record of this default as ive repeatedly asked and they have not provided me with a copy. reason i ask is because i believe that court proceedings had started before the other steps had been followed. i was also under the impression that if an account had defaulted and 6 years later closed then the debt cannot be chased via the courts? big mess and im still no nearer to a solution.
