Lowell notice of intention to enforce

hi have received a letter yesterday stating a notice to enforce from Lowell solicitors saying they are acting on a ccj from 2015 yet we have lived in present house for 8 years and the debt I think was over 10 years ago. Really worried now as only have a few days to reply and thought debt was statutory barred or whatever it is called. Any help would be gratefully appreciated as I’m not in a really good position to repay anything right now.

So you received a CCJ in 2015 and you have only just found out about it?

Did you ever receive a claim form?

Can you say roughly how much is the debt for and what type of debt it was, I mean credit card , loan, bank account or something else

Can you remember when the debt was last paid or acknowledges, if there was a clear 6 years between the cause of action and the claim form being issued it may have been statute barred when the CCJ was issued but that is another discussion

Lowells usually use the County Court Bailiff to enforce and they can be quite amenable unlike those from the private sector, but if it does come to that then it can be easily dealt with, just keep us up to date with what is happening.
