A friend is the subject of an attachment of earnings order. The solicitors who are collecting the debt have added interest and charges on the debt for the year. Am I incorrect in thinking that the amount to be paid is the amount ordered at time of judgement ? I didn't think that extra charges could be added to a judgement debt. Any advice appreciated, and apologies if posted in wrong forum.

Do you have a copy of the judgment/order if so please post a copy here after removing personal indentifiers.

Re: Attachment of earnings
OK, that is a normal consumer credit act debt.
See https://www.nationaldebtline.org/EW/...estonaccj.aspx and the section From 1st October 2008 for info about when interest can be added.
Also please post up a copy of the judgment as Nem has asked.
