Just a quick update. I have today received my letter of settlement from Crap Bum. It basically states, After reviewing your request for XXXXX to cover interest, I can confirm that your calculations are incorrect. All default fees charged to any account are always charged at the purchase interest rate. The total amount of purchase interest we have ever charged to your account since its inception in February 2001 is XXXXX. This amount includes the interest on all of your purchases and only a small portion of this figure has been charged on all the default fees. On the basis of the above, I cannot agree to the proposal of refunding XXXXX to cover the interest. However, I have refunded without any admission of liability all of the purchase interest we have applied to your account which is XXXX. This means that youve had 0% interest on all purchases for the length of your account. Ive also refunded XXXXX for the 8% interest you are entitled to claim nder Section 69 of the county courts act 1984. Along with the above refunds for interest, I have also refunded the default fees totalling XXXX and the court filing fee of XXXX. This brings my total refund to you to XXXXXX. This means that your account is now XXXXXX in credit, so I have arranged to send you a cheque for this amount which you should receive within the next 14 working days. These refunds are made purely as a gesture of goodwill and we will now defend this claim on the bais that we have refunded your full amount claimed. Blah Blah Blah.........................
now thats fine, because the way they have calculated it means they are only £18 short on my total claim with CCI anyway. So How happy am I, and this is the funny bit, on hubbys claim, it actually means that their calculations come to more than mine did with CCI. They have paid him £48 quid more under their way of calculating the interest, than using my way i.e. CCI. Lol Lol Lol. So hes ended up with more than I was claiming for him, Lol Lol Lol. So both accounts paid off with a squid or so balance on each, and cheques following to the value of £2492 squid. Lovely jubbly............... Lol Lol Lol. So even though technically I lost the amount I was owed by £18 on mine, were up £30 quid more than I was claiming on both claims, cos they get hubbys to more than I did, by £48 squid. Lol Lol Lol. Ace, I do love this claiming thingy........................... Its super duper................xxxxxxxxxxxx 4 days to jollies. ANOTHER ONE OVER, DONE FINISHED, SETTLED. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay xxxxNatwest Round 1 - Won £16,080 after 6 month battle

THE WAY FORWARD ON THESE CLAIMS, IS TO STAY POSITIVE, FOCUSED AND PATIENT, AND ALWAYS, ALWAYS BELIEVE ITS WORTH THE EFFORT, BECAUSE IT TRULY IS. WHY CHOOSE THE PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE WHEN THERES NOTHING TO LEARN FROM THAT. THINK OF CLAIMING AS A PERSONAL CHALLENGE AND GIVE IT YOUR ALL.
