Jax - BC account over 6 years old

Am trying to get statements for BC accounts since inception (around 2001) but they have only sent last 6 years which show no charges.

How do I go about getting statements from inception and can I still claim the charges from 2001-2004?

Do I just write to BC and insist on the statements beyond 6 years?

And ... provided I do get them, how would I go about claiming those charges?

You can obtain statements going back farther than 6 years;
it's just that the Bank concerned needs a little persuading!

Banks are obliged to retain information as per the money laundering regs...

in my claim in 2007 Jax---I had to take the ones off my claim outside the 6 years----but then ---I wasn't so confident re challenging it then-so accepted it

If its PPI--then you can go back to year dot (Di will know when she logs on)

They tend to hide behind the 6 year rule (DPA).
But the big banks do retain information for far longer e.g: RBS.

You could get in touch about your previous statements, get in touch directly with them, they may ask you send payment but ask them anyway first, they may even supply them free, some have been lucky to what I know of after requesting them for these details and have provided them free of charge.
Give it a go.

Now currently I have 2 PPI reclaims ongoing via Lloyds TSB, these are from year 2000 and are currently held back due to the Judicial Review, so I am sitting these out to see what happens over the next month or so.

In my opinion, if you still have the account numbers, go ahead make the reclaims, they may even send you paperwork in the post from the account.

Also in regards of my data last year or so I did receive so much back as from mainly 2001 onwards, but did not receive all what I was hoping for on the loan ppi I am making a reclaim on now.

Did you actually request for your data by forms of a Subject access request (SAR)?

Yes I have SAR'd them and sent the tenner - I asked for all statements from inception of account.

all they have sent me is a load of computer printouts on continuous paper (you know the type I mean?) plus photocopies of statements from 2004.

There are no charges showing post-2004 so they must all be from 2001-2004 and these are the statements I don't have.

This is to reclaim charges not PPI

Should I just write back and insist on the full quota of statements and mention the bit about if they have destroyed them they must let me know when, how, who by, etc??

Right then ok, I don't normally deal with charges, so hopefully someone will be along who have experience in this category.

But maybe what I would do is write and tell them you don't believe you have received all your statements, and if they could check if they still hold these on data, and to send them by 7-14 days.
Or ask they explain as you already stated if they no longer hold these, and why etc.
It may be worth another go.

this information is close to my heart as my hsbc loans and credit cards were taken out in 2000 so i,m thinking if i can get hsbc to pay out(claims for loans and credit cards on hold) took 3 loans between 2000 and 2006 but hsbc have said that they can,t find any of the agreements,thats original.p.s if they pay up it shouid be a few quid hopefully
