lol. The fact that 4 people thought to post this up just goes to show how widespread MBNA's misbehaviour has been.

      Also, the consumer complaints stretch all the way across the pond;
and right across the continental states of America!

Anyone who has had dealings with BoA/MBNA, will know how they treat their customers valid complaints....MBNA are a disgrace!

Re: OFT requires MBNA to improve debt collection practices

MBNA, came to London ; they thought that the streets of London were paved with Gold due to the weak regulators and the clear lack of regulation in the UK...

        Their catch phrase was:
"We are an American bank and governed by American banking law"

MBNA, must be made accountable for their actions; the OFT wrist slap with not acheive very much.

Indeed I would put them amongst the top in that respect.
If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of payments.

Agreed. Even the OFT couldn't ignore it for ever.

Shame it didn't include taking effective action though.

yup and left it to fester for so long still time will tell if there is any improvement and consumers must not now sit on the fence but to still keep reporting any bad practises

Still waiting for a subject access request from MBNA. Now outside 40 days. Have written but same old, same old. Delaying tactics, denial that they have to send cetain docs. Same old MBNA. Regulator does nothing.

If MBNA have not fully complied, log a complaint with the ICO!

Already complained in June 2009. ICO found MBNA had breached the act, but MBNA still did not send everything (I was a bit green then) & ICO did nothing about it.

Have made another in december and one to Experto last year. Same response, same pattern, still not all the info...

Could it be they haven't got the documents you have requested?

They aren't going to tell you!
They were out to get me!! But now it's too late!!

Surely they legally have to do so. Isn't this in case law?

If MBNA/OPTIMA have already started to take the legal route via the courts, even though it has been demonstrated by an I&E that the payment offered is reasonable can this be used in any way to get them to back down and accept a payment plan?????

                              if so, how????

i wouid say if the offer is reasonable with the amount of money you have avaliable each month after taking off essential debt like mortgages, council tax etc i don,t see why the lender shouid have a problem with this,as long as the offer is indeed realistic and most judges wouid find for the consumer (i feel) in this case
