Update: It transpired that despite my success above, the bank had closed my credit card at some point in the past and neither I or the FOS were aware of that. Also the bank refused to look into a small PPI claim for the period 1999-2001 (no evidence of this at all, save for a tick box application form where I agreed to PPI).

Right, well, to cut a long story short the bank have now re-opened the account, given me £9K credit and compnesation of an additional £250 plus £400 for PPI I may or may not have had for the above period, based on a maximum credit limit, contractual and statutory interest.

Total victory over Barclaycard. Case closed. File's now in my garage for storage.

And no, I won't be racking up credit with BC again

Thx. Yeah, I've done well out of this complaint. It took perseverance and that is the key factor when dealing with Barclaycard. That and a lot of printer ink, lol.
