  • Crapital one laugh

The wife got a letter through from capital one today, saying they were sorry but they had missed her payment they received July and had now tracked it down and applied it to her account. No word about the 38 quid in fees they applied for the privilege of them losing the payment.

After calling them up, they have reversed the fees but have strangely refused to remove the 'missed payment' marker on her credit report. Bearing in mind we have it in writing that she paid (the date they acknowledge receipt of the payment was before the due date) and they lost the payment at their end. They agreed it was their fault, reversed charges but wont remove the black mark?

While she was on the phone, she notified them of her vision problems and also our recent marriage and asked them to update their records. They want an original copy (not photocopy) of our marriage certificate sent to them before they will do so (??) but what takes the mickey is the response to the bit about eyesight and needling large print. And I quote

We need a doctors report before we can action that. Can't you just use a magnifying glass?
What a bunch of *insert nasty words here*

wow, thats a bit of a personal issue to make such an insensitive remark about, hope you wife takes it as far as she can, people shouldn't be allowed to discriminate against stuff like that, they don't realise how hard everyday life is for disabled people

    best of luck

i would be demanding an appology and an undertaking that there staff are trained to deal with such issues
If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of payments.

Ironically it was the manager (or so she said) of the customer relations team that made that remark. Were writing to the executive team about it.
